More rotoscoping this week :(

this week i learned how to take still pictures from a camera and import them to premier. i wish to learn how to enhance my drawing abilities. one thing that i disliked this week was the repetitiousness of rotoscoping. one thing that made me happy this week was starting my stop mooting animation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw7aCFQqQ8M this link shows the behind the scenes in bethesda studios about the making of the elder scrolls skyrim. the hobbit :D

After reading an article of the movements of gollum etc. I've learned that in order to capture these motions and facial expressions and actor must wear a skin tight suit with infrared lights on them, they must be bright enough so the camera can pick them up in broad day light. This technique isn't used just on gollum but the goblins, orcs, and trolls from both "The Lord Of The Rings" and "The Hobbit". Ive also learned that peter jackson is taking the approach with 48 frames per second rather than 24. I n my opinion this article has showed me how the whole motion capturing system works. i especially like the illustration in the beginning of the article. How will motion capturing be further advanced?

weekly update

Rise Of The Guardians

After reading pete ramseys interview I've learned that rise of the guardians is a movie based on fear. it teaches kids that there is fear in the world but there are forces that protect you from it. I've also learned that pete ramsey is also the story board writer for dream works and now directed the movie Rise Of The Guardians. one thing i like about the article is that it gave me great feed back on the movie and gave me interest to see the movie and i also like how he described what the movie is about. what is the next movie that will be created by dream works?

This week

This week I've learned about our new project witch is rotoscoping. In the future id like to learn lipsincking for future animations. I liked doing the walk cycle critique this week and the fact that i got to the SECOND page of my 2d short story board. what frustrated me this week was my computer it would lag for about 2-3 seconds and would confuse me on what I'm doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BB65F1I0mA This link shows some of the making of avatar the last airbender it is also one of my favorite shows. Star Wars! Disney?

      After reading the artcle "The disney purchsae of lucas films:what does it mean?" ive learned that disney has boucht the rights to the star wars movie for 4.05 billion dollars. Ive also learnded that the animation studio ILM is remaining a seperate company, but will still be making the souind  affects for star wars. Ive also learned that disney plans to release the new star wars movie in 2015. In my opinion the article was ver well written and it was very informative. Will the new star wars be better or worse then the originals?

Voice actors!

       After reading the article "Voice actors stepping more into the spotlight" Ive learned that voice acting had started in japan and then made its way into american lives. Ive also learned that  a man named Frank Welker was the voice actor for Fred from Scooby Doo and many other voices we all know and love. Ive also learned that Seth MacFarlane is the creator of not only Family Guy but also American Dad and The Clevland show. I like that the article showed where voice acting came from and that it also listed some of the voice actors from today. Is it possible for voice acting to get more advanced?

No disk drive!!!!!

After reading the article Apple and the incredible vanishing CD drive ive learhened that Apples CD drive is vanishing each new MAC they create does not have a CD drive not but you can buy one for $79. ive also learned that the only computers in apples current line up is the MAC pro and the non retina display MAC book pro, but apple has stated that a new MAC pro will be released in 2013.KI have also learned that removing the optical drive saves the computer on space. One thing i liked about the article is  that it described the past and future of the MAC's. Another thing i like about the article were the pictures that were posted in the article. Why else would apple get rid of the disk drive?

Hurricane sandy fraud

After reading the article hurricane sandy images: dont get fooled by a fake photo. ive learned that theyre are alot of photo shop "artists". they make fake photos such as storms. which cause wide spread and not so much needed panic. The article displayed many pictures which made the article more interesting. The article was very informative on how to catch on to fake pictures created on photoshop. I also like how the article was very well written. Why do people make these pictures if they know it doesnt help anyone?

This week in class I've learned how to make an animated walk cycle. one think i liked this week was doing the logo critique and watching hurricane sandy :P. One thing i did not like was doing the animation for the walk cycle because it was very repetitious and time consuming. Disney princes's

After reading the article about disneys new princess Sofia the First ive learned that people take ethnicity way too seriously and that they base these fairy tal worlds after actual countries such as spain and so on. Ive also learned that disney is going to have a new show come Nov. 18th
i dont like the fact the the whole article was written as a conversation. I like how the fictional word is going to embrace the cultural aspect of latin america and spain which could teach kids many things. Who will the next disney princess be?

movie directing

After reading the film director tips ive learned that theyre are many things tha doesnt go throught the audiences ind such as lense size, framing, etc ive also learned that the actors only really talk to the diretors for things as inspiration, guidance, and directions. Therefore theyre called the "director".
The most used directing method is called "result directing" and its when you tell each person on the set what you want and you now exactly what you want when you want it. i like that the article has tought me alot about directing. It has aso showed me how much work goes into making a movie.
So whats the next big block buster and when will we see it?

this week 4

film making tips

After reading the article 6 film making tips from joss whedon ive learned that he created the show buffy the vampire slayer. Ive learned that working in film is a very tuff profession because you need many key components to make just a show let alone a whole movie, and lastly i learned that he was one of the writers for the horror movie The cabbin in the woods. In my opinion the article was full of information and was well written. some of the videos posted in the article were very interestin such as the buffy the vampire slayer one. what other movies will joss direct or write?

Frankenweenie

    After reading the article "Dawn Of TheDead Pets" ive learned that stop motion animation is taken to new heights with the movie frankenweenie being played in not only black and white but 3D as well this has brought stop motion to new heights and possibly new expectations of the audience. Ive also learned that this is not the first time Frankenweenie has been made it was once a short 30-minute animation back in 1980 as one of tim burtons first animations. The last thing i found out was this sort of story had happened to mr. burton he had once owned and lost his beloved dog as does the main character of the movie. In my personal opinion the article gave me a well understanding of the movie and its production, but i was getting alittle confused on who was the speaker sometimes. Is there no limit to stop-motion?

the week 3

Paranorman

After reading the article "paranorman an art n the making" ive learned that this team or teams of animators have broke the boundaries on new techniques for stop motion animation for example the mob scenes in the movie they made it seem like a much bigger world withe more puppets in this movie than previous ones. i've learned that they use 3D printers for these puppets. and lastly i've learned that paranorman isn't just about action and humor they put real emotion into the movie
     in my opinion the article gives good feed back on the movie i didn't like how it was all a Q and A though i wonder what they're next big movie is going to be after he release of frankinweenie?   

the next generation

         After reading the article how star trek: the next generation changed pop culture i learned that after the series they mad another called deep space nine and voyager, but i knew about voyager. i also learned that a lot of the props they used in the movie are actually real in the present. For example the PADD was portraying the Ipad. i learned that it shamed some pop culture trends from the 1980's all the way till today. In my opinion star trek: the next generation was one of the greatest shows ive ever watched, and yes ive watched it. the article though was a well written article and full of information. I wonder what made this show so great when during the 1980's it was conciderd in the "nerd genre"

3D printers

from this article ive learned that 3D printers are used to print computer format on to an object. ive also learned they use a program called additive manufacturing for the past 25 years. The shares for 3D printers has doubled. in my opinion the article was very informative on how the printer is used and worked. what i didnt like how ever was the length of the article I feel like they could have shortened it. My question is how will they use 3D printers in the future will they expand theyre industry or will they invent a possible 4D printer?   

expressive robotics

In the article "expressive robots help researchers understand trust" helped me learn that when your playing a game or in a situation where trust is involved you hould pay attention to the other persons actions. ive also learned that its possible to program a robot with the capability to respond to humans in an almost humanly way. I  learned this robot was used in a trust excersise for humans.
In my opinion i think the topic of usuing robots to develop like humans is fascinating. the article was very well written and descriptive. One thing i was amazed by was the video on hiw it responds. My question thats makes me alittle un easy is how far will we push human robotics? will they take control? even more inportant could we stop it? 

my week

      This past week in digital media I learned the design principals and the color wheel.
In the future I want to learn the program adobe flash.
The one thing that frustrated me this week was the club fuse ad project.
The one thing that made me happy this week was finishing the club fuse ad and having that all work day because I got a lot done because of that.
